Lighting a Foam Rubber Pumpkin

Lighting a carved pumpkin seems to be an easy thing, throw in a candle and you're good to go. Unfortunately, A candle will most likely melt your Foam Rubber Pumpkin. I recommend LED puck lights. Puck lights can be found at any hardware store and occasionally your local large super market such as Fred Meyer or Wall Mart. They are generally small, flat and the LED lights are brighter which will help the light push through the etched surfaces of your pumpkin.

I have found puck light sets at Costco for around $30, 6 in a pack and come with a remote so you can turn them all on and off from a push of a button.

Puck Lights

For those that prefer to light their pumpkins all day and night every night, I recommend a plug in type of light. I have found these in lighting sections at Home Depot and Lowes. If you choose this route, I can create a small whole on the back lower portion of the pumpkin in order to insert the light. They have a small clip that expands to hold them in place.
