About Tonya

My Story:

Hi! My name is Tonya Mitchell. I have been carving for over 20 years now (Yes, I'm that old) and found that foam rubber pumpkins are not only easier to carve, but they are more versatile, less messy, and will last forever!  I look forward to the Holidays each year in order to have the opportunity to carve.

I use a heated X-Acto knife and a Dremel tool.  The heated knife makes it easy to cut/melt through the pumpkin.  The Dremel tool is used for etching which creates a kind of glow.

Lighting Foam Rubber Pumpkins

Lighting pumpkins is usually an easy task, just put in a candle and you're ready to go.  Foam Rubber Pumpkins, however,  will melt.  I recommend LED puck lights as they are brighter and improve the carved image when etched.  You can find small pumpkin lights during the Halloween season at any local store but these are generally not strong enough to push the light through. Puck lights can usually be found at your local hardware stores in the lighting sections.
